Tony trained on the North East Ecumenical Course and Northern College, Manchester.
He was ordained at St Andrew’s, Blackhill, County Durham on 3rd July 1998 and was
minister to the North West Durham Group of churches before moving to St Andrew’s,
Ealing in June 2003.
Tony is married to Jackie and they have two grown-up daughters, Sarah and Rachel.
Church Organisation
The governing body of St. Andrew's is the Church Meeting. This is made up of all
the members on the roll. Anyone connected with the church can attend, but only members
can speak or vote.
There are three executive committees, each responsible to the church meeting. They are
the Elders, the Church Management Committee and the Church Centre Management Committee.
The Elders
The elders are responsible for the spiritual life of the church.
This includes :
a) Fostering concern for witness and evangelism.
b) Ensuring that public worship is regularly offered, and that the sacraments are duly
administered.
c) Ensuring pastoral care for the congregation.
d) Keeping the roll of members.
e) Instituting and supervising work among children and young people.
The Church Management Committee
The Church Management Committee is responsible for the practical side of church life.
This includes :
a) Ensuring the buildings are properly maintained.
b) Providing the minister with the equipment they need in their ministries.
c) Filling vacant jobs within the church.
d) Keeping the Church accounts and ensuring that the Church's money is used wisely.
e) Producing publications to inform the congregation and the local community of church
activities.
Some of these responsibilities are delegated to other committees.
The Church Centre Management Committee
The Church Centre Management Committee's duties are as follows:
a) Managing and maintaining the Centre premises.
b) Keeping the Centre accounts and ensuring prudent financial management.
c) Recommending and overseeing policies for the hiring out of accommodation in the Centre.
Other Organisations
St. Andrew's has a number of other groups within the church.
These include:
a) Communications group; responsible for church publications, including this Web site.
b) House groups; in members' homes, range from bible study to topical discussion to shared meals.
c) Scottish country dancing.
d) Toddlers group.
e) The church has a Traidcraft Stall once a month.
